Firefighter Jones, 25, started his career as a reserve firefighter with Porterville Fire Department and was hired as a full-time firefighter in 2017. Patrick Jones was known for his infectious positive attitude, work ethic and dedication to serving the community.
Jones was killed while battling the City of Porterville Library Fire with Fire Captain Ramon “Ray” Figueroa. The two were the first to arrive on scene and entered the building to conduct a primary search to ensure all civilians had exited. Over 50 firefighters worked to control the blaze where Figueroa and Jones sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

THESE FAMILIES TOOK THE TIME TO SHOW THEIR LOVE, SUPPORT AND CARE FOR ANOTHER FAMILY DURING THEIR OWN LOSS. WHAT TRULY SELFLESS INDIVIDUALS THESE FAMILIES ARE.
WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW TRULY THANKFUL WE ARE FOR THESE FAMILIES. THEY ARE A PURE EXAMPLE OF STRENGTH, LOVE AND COURAGE IN THE FACE OF LOSS.
